Location: Ashkelon Garden (behind the Library)

The Lakeshore Concert Band (LCB) was founded by Morley Calvert in 1967, and first performed at Expo ’67, the Montreal World’s Fair. It began as an adult education course at Lindsay Place High School in Pointe-Claire, but quickly outgrew those roots and evolved into an independent community band. In the succeeding 50+ years, the band has been based in the West Island of Montreal, and today calls Dorval its home. The group regularly performs throughout the Montreal area, and beyond. During the summer months, it performs outdoor concerts and presents a series of more formal concerts in concert hall venues during the winter. Opportunities are sought to support charitable causes, resulting in concerts at schools, hospitals, and fundraising events.

À propos de l’ensemble

L’Harmonie du Lakeshore a été fondée par Morley Calvert en 1967 et a donné son premier concert lors de l’Expo 67. L’harmonie a débuté par des cours du soir destinés aux adultes à l’école Lindsay Place High School de Pointe-Claire. En peu de temps, l’harmonie est devenue un ensemble amateur indépendant. Par la suite, l’harmonie Lakeshore s’est installée dans l’Ouest de l’île de Montréal, plus précisément à Dorval. Pendant ses cinquante années d’existence, l’harmonie est demeurée un ensemble impliqué dans sa communauté. Pendant la belle saison, elle présente de nombreux concerts dans des parcs et pendant la saison régulière, des concerts de musique dite plus sérieuse. L’harmonie visite également les écoles et les hôpitaux et participe à plusieurs levées de fonds.
