Interviewed by Yiddish scholar and translator, Sebastian Schulman. 

Professor Rebecca Margolis is the Pratt Foundation Chair of Jewish Civilisation at the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation at Monash University, Australia. She is a scholar of migration and cultural history with a focus on the transmission and revitalisation of Yiddish. Her current research on new Yiddish cinema investigates the production of twenty-first century feature fiction film and television with Yiddish dialogue. She is a product of Yiddish Montreal and has and taught Yiddish language and culture in Ottawa, New York, Amherst and Israel.
